Fundraising to help us help Herefordshire
We’re passionate about making Herefordshire a better place for everyone to live, work and enjoy. Could you use your knowledge, skills or enthusiasm to help achieve our goals? We’re currently advertising in the local press for a fundraising volunteer and you could be the very person we’re looking for…
As our Fundraising Volunteer you’ll make an important and direct contribution to income generation for our charity. Increasing awareness with our members and the wider public will help us to raise more funds to achieve our aims.
The role
You’ll be part of planning and implementing our new fundraising strategy. This will include new initiatives such as donor stewardship or corporate sponsorship. We’re also looking at new ways of generating income tied to specific CPREHerefordshire activities and campaigns.
We see you as advising our teams on tactics and techniques for effective fundraising to support our work long into the future. You’ll be forging links and gaining support from the fundraising team at national CPRE. There’ll also be the chance to share and exchange ideas with colleagues in other local CPRE branches across England.
Your skills
You’ll be able to take a long-term and tactical view of our fundraising, as well as rolling up your sleeves and getting involved.
Ideally you’ll have some experience of charity fundraising, but our friendly team will also provide development and support to train you for your role. Enthusiasm, good communication skills and a willingness to learn are a massive bonus!
You’ll enjoy both self-starting independently and also working with others.
You’ll need computer skills including using Office software and have internet and computer access at home.
We’d ask you to commit to volunteering regularly (2-4 hours a week) with occasional attendance at online or face-to-face meetings.
You’ll have an interest in local issues and understand the importance of a thriving rural economy.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll be able to use your skills to make a positive difference to Herefordshire.
We’ll give you all the support you need to enhance your CV, developing new skills and getting valuable experience. We can give you a reference for any future work or volunteering.
You’ll be meeting like-minded people and enjoying being part of a committed team.
You’ll have opportunities to attend events, workshops and training sessions at a local and national level.
There’ll be the opportunity to learn more about the various issues facing our local countryside as you meet various members of our team.
Or maybe not…..
But if fundraising isn’t quite your bag, how about a planning volunteer role? You’ll be keeping an eye out and investigating developments which threaten a healthy rural environment.
