Volunteer with us
With your support, we can continue to make the countryside in Herefordshire a better place for everyone. Get in touch with your ideas and offers, however much or little you are able to contribute.
Volunteer with CPRE Herefordshire
We’d love to hear from anyone who would like to help us protect the Herefordshire countryside.
Help us build our new PLAN team
We’re looking for volunteers to form a new PLAN team, reviewing planning applications across Herefordshire and responding to developments that would damage our countryside, wildlife and rivers. As applications become more complex, this work matters more than ever. If you have an eye for detail and care about where and how Herefordshire grows, we’d love to hear from you. You don’t need to be a planning expert, as we’ll support you as you learn.
Other ways to get involved
- River Wye citizen science: join one of our biggest projects yet, testing water quality to help stop pollution across the River Wye catchment.
- Hedgerow Heroes: help plant new hedgerows between November and April, creating vital wildlife corridors across the county.
- Become a trustee: being a trustee involves attending 4 online meetings a year, and our AGM if possible. You don’t need any previous board experience. Your main role would be to help make sure our work stays focused on our charity’s objectives. If you’d also like to help with our projects, that would be very welcome, but it isn’t essential.
- Young Trainee Trustee: we’re also looking for a young person, aged 18-30, to join us as a trainee trustee. It’s a great way to gain board-level experience, learn how a charity is run and help shape the future of Herefordshire’s countryside, with support from our existing trustees along the way.
