Booking form for hedge planting days

Hedgerow Planting
CPRE

Hedge planting days run from 10am to 2pm and will be led by an experienced hedge planting lead.  We welcome both individual volunteers and businesses looking to participate through charity days.  Please select which dates you can do on the form below.  We will contact you nearer the time with information about the site, parking, what to bring etc (we provide spades).

We can only deliver our aim of planting at least 2.5km of new hedgerow in Herefordshire with the help of our brilliant volunteers, so do sign up for what you can below.

Children are more than welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. If you have not planted a hedge before we will show you how (only light work is required!). It’s a great way of spending a few hours in the outdoors, in beautiful Herefordshire countryside, doing something great for nature and meeting like-minded people too.

Should you have any questions please email us at info@cpreherefordshire.org.uk

We provide hot drinks and biscuits on the day to keep you going!

    The importance of hedgerows:

Did you know, since 1945 England has lost over half of its hedgerows which are vital for nature, bursting with life and they support one in ten of the UK’s vulnerable species, including the hazel dormouse and the beloved hedgehog, whose decline is closely linked to hedgerow loss. The lines of hedges crisscrossing our countryside act as wildlife corridors, linking habitats together and providing safe movement for many scurrying, flying and scuttling animals such as endangered dormice and rare brown hairstreak butterflies.  You can find out more about the history of hedges here.
