New head of environment must act now!

Following the short posting of Ranil Jayawardena, we welcome Thérèse Coffey as she steps into the role of environment secretary.

And locally … of course we want action on the Wye to be a priority. Specifically, we call on her to take urgent action to set up a fully-funded catchment-wide regulatory body. This agency should have  powers to enforce both punitive and positive measures to clean up the Wye.
