Well done Big Butterfly Count-ers!

A fantastic 864 counters in Herefordshire supplied more than 1200 counts for the Big Butterfly Count 2020, with Herefordshire's most-seen butterfly being the Large White - probably laying eggs on a cabbage plant near you!  Nationally, 110,000 people took part and spotted over 1.5 million butterflies between them.  We learnt a lot about butterflies in the process and can now tell our Meadow Browns from our Gatekeepers - fourth and fifth on the county list respectively.

To see the results, click here for the national map.  For Herefordshire results only, search in the 'Filter by boundary' box for 'Herefordshire, County of' - and you can zoom in for details of each count.

And don't forget to join in next year!
